PAEI Guyane
We have supported French Guiana’s European and International Affairs Office for several years: strategy, visual identity, social media, campaigns and films. It also tasked us with redesigning its website.
The project
How do you make European funds known across French Guiana, and guide every project leader to the right funding?
The challenge
The European and International Affairs Office (PAEI) of the Collectivité territoriale de Guyane promotes European funds across the territory: ERDF, ESF+, EAFRD, EMFAF and cooperation through the Interreg Amazonia program. It speaks to the general public under the “Europe en Guyane” banner and guides project leaders all the way to submitting their application.
So, two audiences: every resident of French Guiana should see what Europe funds near them, and every project leader should quickly find the program designed for them.
To encourage the people of French Guiana to take ownership of European funds and feel that they matter to them, we chose to link the institutional with the local. The objectives:
- become identifiable and recognizable;
- build a connection with the people of French Guiana;
- convey a professional image.

The solution
We have supported French Guiana’s European and International Affairs Office for several years. It also entrusted us with the redesign of its website.
Our team manages its social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X), designs its campaigns and measures their results in regular reports.
We designed the Europe en Guyane visual world: brand strategy, brand guidelines and brand identity. It keeps the strong visual markers of Europe, with its shades of blue and yellow, and highlights the territory’s cultural and natural features: the toucan, palm leaves, the turtle, photographs of people with French Guianese features, cutout images paired with rounded shapes, and a typeface that combines impact with local roots. Communications that are both impactful and grounded in French Guiana’s reality, making it easier for residents to buy in and get involved.
Over the years, we have also worked together on:
- communications plans, a video strategy and a LinkedIn strategycommunications plans, video strategy and LinkedIn strategy ;
- the Joli Mois de l’Europe, its big event in May: billboards, posts, quiz and satisfaction surveythe Joli Mois de l’Europe: billboards, posts, quiz ;
- thematic campaigns, such as “L’Europe avec Elles” for Women’s Month, and announcements of calls for projectsthematic campaigns, such as “L’Europe avec Elles” ;
- video portraits of project leaders, then a motion design film adapted for each fundvideo portraits of project leaders, motion design film ;
- a magazine, large-format billboards and surveys of citizens, beneficiaries and partnersa magazine, large-format billboards and surveys ;
- a brand book.
The website now starts from its visitors’ questions: “I’m a project leader,” “I’m a beneficiary,” “I’m an institutional partner.” Open funding can be filtered by fund, theme and submission method; funded projects can be browsed municipality by municipality, and beneficiaries on a map. It also features the calendar of events and drop-in sessions, a video library, and the path to submit an application or book an appointment with an advisor.
The website is in French, English and Portuguese. It carries over the content of the old site and redirects its URLs.
