Biomasse

Web design, responsive UX/UI mockups and an interactive infographic for the future website of Biomasse Guyane, a nonprofit working to develop the biomass sector in French Guiana.

The project

How do you make the biomass sector accessible to everyone with a clear, educational website rooted in the local area?

The challenge

The biomass sector involves technical, environmental and economic issues that very different audiences need to be able to understand.

The future website therefore had to meet several objectives:

  • present the biomass sector in French Guiana clearly;
  • make a technical subject accessible to the general public;
  • provide useful information to businesses and institutions;
  • work on every screen;
  • respect the nonprofit’s identity;
  • explaining a circular economy model in a concrete, visual wayexplain a circular economy model visually.

The challenge was to find the right balance between education, accuracy and appeal, without reducing the complexity of the subject to standard institutional messaging.

The solution

Bitwip worked on several aspects of the future website:

  • research into stakeholders and existing material;
  • site structure and content organization;
  • design of responsive UX/UI mockups;
  • creating a visual direction consistent with Biomasse Guyane’s identitya visual direction consistent with Biomasse’s identity ;
  • design of an interactive isometric illustration;
  • structuring content for three audiences: businesses, institutions and the general publiccontent structured for three audiences.

The interactive infographic shows the different stages of the biomass value chain. Each element can be explored while browsing, from wood collection to energy production.

This approach turns a technical subject into an experience that is more concrete, more visual and easier to understand.

The results

The project laid a clear foundation for Biomasse Guyane’s future website and its digital communications.

The mockups and the infographic make it possible to:

  • structure information better;
  • make the biomass sector more accessible;
  • present the project to different audiences;
  • showcase biomass as a resource for French Guiana’s future;
  • give the user experience an educational dimension;
  • anchoring the design in the challenges of the energy transition and the circular economyanchor the design in the challenges of the energy transition.
