Fabrique
du Dégrad
Visual identity and website for La Fabrique du Dégrad, French Guiana’s first shared workshop, dedicated to local crafts, reuse and the circular economy.
The project
How do you bring a creative community space in French Guiana to life online as well as in its workshops?
The challenge
La Fabrique du Dégrad needed to modernize its website and raise awareness of the full range of its activities.
The space caters to varied audiences: individuals, artisans, artists, professionals, students, nonprofits and companies looking for team-building activities.
The website needed to:
- present the different workshops;
- showcase the resident artisans;
- provide information on training courses;
- publish events and creative workshops;
- make registration easier;
- give access to opening hours and practical information;
- reach new audiences beyond Rémire-Montjoly and Cayenne.

The solution
Bitwip designed a visual identity and a website built around the world of crafts, sharing and reuse.
The site structure makes it possible to publish activities and the events calendar regularly. Visitors can access registration forms, booking platforms and information on each workshop.
The art direction relies on color coding to differentiate the spaces and craft areas. An interactive map and a video presenting the venue also make it easier to discover the different spaces.
The results
La Fabrique du Dégrad now has a website that presents its offering clearly and makes its activities easier to access.
The project makes it possible to:
- raise the profile of French Guiana’s first shared workshop;
- showcase local crafts and the skills passed on there;
- present training courses, events and workshops;
- make registration and getting in touch easier;
- help visitors find their way around the different spaces;
- increase the space’s local visibility;
- give the team an editorial foundation that is easy to update;
- convey the venue’s collaborative, creative spirit online.
